Xbox 360 (slim) 4g???????????????????

Can i leave games in the xbox for long periods of time while it is off? Because with my old xbox the games would get ruined because of the dumb feature of the xbox where the tray inside always spins and somehow it would scratch my disks very heavily and they wouldn't be playable.
